Medical Aid Notice.

What patients with medical aid need to know about being seen at MyFamilyGP.

Although MyFamilyGP does not bill medical aids directly, many of our patients have medical aid coverage and submit our invoices to their schemes for reimbursement. Here is what you need to know.

Reimbursement is between you and your medical aid.

We are not contracted to any medical aid scheme. The amount you are refunded for our services depends entirely on:

Our invoices.

Every patient receives a fully coded tax invoice including:

This is exactly the documentation your scheme needs to assess your claim.

Out-of-pocket costs.

Where your scheme reimburses below our consultation fees, you will be responsible for the shortfall. We will always discuss any anticipated additional costs (pathology, vaccines, procedures, medications) with you before they are incurred.

Gap cover.

If you have gap cover or out-of-hospital benefits, your invoice may also be submittable to those. We recommend asking your medical aid in advance.
