About the practice

A GP practice that knows who you are.

MyFamilyGP has been part of Sea Point for over six decades. We are a women-led private practice with two full-time partners and two part-time doctors, and a simple belief: good medicine starts with actually knowing the person in front of you — their history, their circumstances, and the things that have made healthcare feel complicated before.

Our doctors value the art of medicine equally to its science. We have particular depth in family medicine, geriatric medicine, women's health, and — since 2019 — in LGBTQIA+ and gender-affirming care. Everyone is welcome here.

You will be heard properly.

Every consultation is long enough to actually listen. Not long enough to feel rushed into an answer, but long enough to understand what is really going on. We do not have a five-minute clock ticking.

You will not have to explain yourself before you feel safe.

For many of our patients — especially those in the LGBTQIA+ community — healthcare has historically meant bracing for a reaction before you can even describe a symptom. That stops here.

Our practice is not a walk-in clinic. You book a doctor, you see that doctor, and over time they build a picture of you — your history, your patterns, the things that work and the things that haven't.

Expertise in the things other practices handle poorly.

Dr Laskov has been a GP in Sea Point since 2014 with focused, expertise-led depth in family medicine, geriatric care, pediatrics, and dermatology. Dr Tomson co-authored South Africa's inaugural clinical guideline on gender-affirming hormone therapy and refined her LGBTQIA+ and trans care skills at Callen-Lorde in NYC.
